There are some skincare essentials in every pro makeup artist’s kit, products that they rely on and trust.

Today I will share a few of my favorite skincare products that I always have in my kit.

I use them not only to prepare the skin before makeup but also for my personal skin care – that shows you how much I like them!

 Weleda – Skin Food

I think that anyone who’s makeup I had a pleasure to do within last two years can, confirm that I’m obsessed with Skin Food. As it is an essential skincare product to me – before makeup or not.

A thick and nourishing moisturiser that has an ointment texture. With ingredients like : calendula , chamomile, rosemary extract, beeswax and many more that your skin will be thankful for.

I use it for dry skin and dry patches, as well as in the areas I see the skin needs a bit more glow. It is also great to do a quick and gentle massage before the makeup application, which helps to boost the circulation of the skin.

Hourglass – Veil Mineral primer

It is the only primer in my kit, and it’s vegan and cruelty free. It is not organic or natural but , as a Makeup Artist I need to sometimes make some compromises so that the makeup will last.

Hourglass uses high quality ingredients and the most advanced technologies, to create their products. Also and has always been against animal testing.

The primer will guarantee that your makeup will last , as it makes any products that are on top waterproof. It is also oil free so it is great for oily/combination skin, and for every skin type on a very humid day! It also conceals redness and minimizes the pores a bit as it has Zinc Oxdie . It also has SPF 15 – enough to protect your skin from the UVA/UVB but not enough to create the flash back. You can find more information about the product on the brand’s official website.

Elan Skin Care Wonder Serum and Pure Hyaluronic Acid Serum

An award winning product by Elan Skin Care – Wonder Serum is an antioxidant serum for mature skin. It is formulated to protect the skin against free radical damage, water loss but also environmental damage thanks to vitamine E and coenzyme Q10. Pure Hyaluronic Acid serum has tiny molecules that can penetrate skin more easily and increase its hydration.

Both products work amazingly, used either together or separately  – it depends on the skin type that I’m working with.

It is amazing for dehydrated, tired looking skin – I use it not only for mature skin. If you mix both products together , you’ll get a silky emulsion. It leaves the skin super smooth and ready for makeup application.

It is natural, organic and vegan, made in Great Britain. The company owner, Jo Silva really cares about the clients and the products!

Have a look at her beautiful website and check more of her products. She has kindly offered a special discount during the quarantine – 20 % if using a code SYLWIAKUNYSZ at the checkout for my readers! Enjoy!

Rose Dew – by Cosmetics a la Carte

Another essential skincare product that I love using before applying makeup. It is super light, and oil-free moisturizer and primer in one. Rich in Hyaluronic acid which gives added hydration and Otto Rose which also gives the divine smell.

It is really lightweight so can be also used for under eye area. I even use it sometimes to refresh the makeup, patting gently on the top of the foundation.

The product is vegan, the brand has always been against animal testing. What I particularly like about this British brand, is aside from its high quality products products and ingredients. It has been around for over 40 years and is made in London! You can check the product in here
